David Royds co-founded Matrix in 1987. Prior to that he worked at Laing and Cruickshank and the Financial Times. Non executive posts now include three VCTs, as well as several companies involved in property development, shipping and film finance.

Chris became CEO in November 2007. Before joining Matrix he was CEO of Whitehead Mann Group Plc, the publicly listed executive recruitment firm. Prior to that he was Finance Director of Clifford Chance LLP, the global law firm. Chris began his career with Coopers & Lybrand where he became a partner in the audit practice in 1994. He spent 2 years in New York in the late 1980s and was based in China from 1994 to 1997 as Managing Partner of Coopers & Lybrand’s Shanghai office.

John joined Matrix in 2009 as Group Chief Operating Officer and Finance Director. John has spent his entire career in and around the financial services industry. In the early 1990s he worked at UBS within the European Equities division and then as MD in the Global Derivatives group. In 1998, he became one of the founding partners of Capco, a leading global provider of integrated consulting, technology, and transformation services to the financial services industry. He left Capco in 2005 to join ING as Chief Operating Officer of the Wholesale Banking division.

Rob joined Matrix in 1996 and has been responsible for developing the Matrix business in structuring, syndicating and managing commercial property investments. Prior to joining Matrix Rob spent 10 years in the property finance industry, in particular concentrating on Enterprise Zone Investments.

Malcolm Le May is CEO of the Investment Banking division of Matrix. He has many years experience in the financial services industry having worked in investment and corporate banking, asset management and private equity. He joined Matrix from JER Partners having previously been deputy chief executive of Morley Fund Management, Aviva’s asset management arm. Prior to joining Morley, Malcolm held several senior banking positions at ING and UBS and was previously at BZW and Morgan Grenfell. He is a qualified accountant and sits on the Advisory board of ThreeDelta, and the boards of RSA plc and Pendragon plc.

Rupert, a chartered accountant, co-founded Matrix in 1987 and has since been instrumental in the development of the business. After qualifying with Robson Rhodes in 1983, he moved into venture capital and corporate finance. He has also been involved in the founding and/or development of a number of other businesses and has particular experience in the health and energy sectors.

Charles joined Matrix in 2007. He was formerly CEO of Dexia Private Banking (UK) and Chairman of Ely Fund Managers Limited. He also gained experience in Corporate Finance from his former roles with S G Warburg & Co Ltd and J S Gadd & Co Ltd (formerly C A Good & Co Ltd). He was a founder non-executive director of Citigate (now Citigate Dewe Rogerson) and is currently Chairman of various unlisted and AIM listed companies.
