John joined Matrix in May 2006 with over 20 years experience in institutional broking. This includes 12 years at Hoare Govett, where he was a senior institutional salesman and also helped establish the South African business. This was followed by several years at both Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Credit Agricole. John has extensive experience both in primary and secondary markets.

John joined Matrix in January 2009. Having read law at Oxford, he has spent nearly 30 years in broking, starting off in Private Clients, followed by L.Messel & Co, later Lehman Brothers, in Institutional Broking as a senior institutional salesman, then Morgan Stanley, and lastly with Collins Stewart. Where he spent thirteen and half years in their Capital Markets team, responsible for bringing a number of companies to the market, as well as secondary fund raisings.

John joined Matrix in April 2008. After starting his career with Legal and General Investment Management he then moved across into Broking. With over 20 years experience in Institutional Broking he was a senior institutional salesman with Panmure Gordon and Seymour Pierce where he was responsible for many primary and secondary issues

Nick joined Matrix in September 2009 after ten years institutional broking with Sutherlands, Charterhouse and, latterly, ING Wholesale Banking where he co-ordinated equity sales to Scottish Institutional clients and ran the Edinburgh office. Prior to this he enjoyed three years trading soft commodity futures and options, four years in the British Army and holds a degree in Russian from the University of Exeter.

Chris trained as an Oil & Gas equity analyst before migrating to sectoral marketing in the late-80s. Chris been actively involved in the role for some 20 years, with Merrill Lynch/Smith New Court till 1999 & ABN AMRO until 2004. In 2005 Chris helped start-up Tristone Capital’s London office (MD - Institutional Sales), leaving following its acquisition by Macquarie Bank in 2009. Chris began his career at BP (1980) and the City (Scott, Goff, Hancock, 1982) after gaining a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and a PhD (both London Univ).

Charlie joined Matrix in November 2009. After leaving the London School of Economics in 2001 Charlie began his career as a financial journalist at The Sunday Times. In 2003 Charlie moved to Investec Securities where he worked predominantly with UK Hedge-Fund clients. In 2006 Charlie joined the ECM team at Collins Stewart where he was involved in a number of IPOs and corporate transactions. In August 2008 Charlie moved to Dubai to help setup Collins Stewarts’ Middle-East office.

Hugh joined Matrix in September 2008. Having gained a years experience in the Research Department, he joined the Sales desk at the end of 2009. Prior to joining Matrix, he spent time in the media sector working on the concept and launch of a magazine. Hugh holds a Masters in Modern History from the University of St Andrews.

Charles joined Matrix in January 2010. After 11 years playing 1st Class cricket for Kent and Glamorgan, Charles started in the City in 1984, initially with Rowe and Pitman (Warburgs) and then, as a Director in UK Equity Sales, with NatWest Securities, BT Alex Brown and Deutsche Bank before joining US Broker, Pali International, in April 2008.

Oliver joined Matrix in September 2009 as Head of Pan European Equity Sales. He has over 20 years experience in financial sales: most recently having worked at Collins Stewart and prior to that he spent a number of years managing sales teams at Dresdner Kleinwort and Commerzbank AG. Oliver worked at Merrill Lynch between 1990 and 1998. During this time he was relocated to Switzerland and on his return he held a country manager role for Global equities into Switzerland.

Murray started in the City in 1992 as a graduate trainee with Smith New Court, having read Banking and Finance at Loughborough University. He worked as a UK equity salesman and then joined the European desk following the takeover by Merill Lynch in 1995. Murray joined Collins Stewart in 2000 where he worked as a European salesman.

Knut joined Matrix in February 2010. He has over 15 years experience in equity sales, including managing specialist sales teams at Alfred Berg/ABN AMRO. Knut set-up the Nordic equities desk at Kaupthing in London. Prior to that he has had multiple sales roles In Scandinavia and London.

George joined Matrix in January 2010 having previously worked for the US brokerage Pali International in London. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2000 and was recruited to work for the US House of Representatives in Washington DC during the 2000 Presidential Election. He started his finance career as a Portfolio Manager at HSBC Investments (previously James Capel) in 2002 before moving to become a Divisional Director of Brewin Dolphin in 2006. He has an Honours degree in Civil Engineering and is a member of the Securities Institute.

Paul joined Matrix in December 2009 having previously worked for Dresdner Kleinwort for the last 9 years. Paul started his career with de Zoete & Bevan (merged with BZW) as an derivatives broker before working at Credit Suisse and HSBC (James Capel) and latterly Dresdner. He has held positions within Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Broking and has worked on numerous rights issues, share buybacks and equity placings on behalf of corporate clients.

Dick joined the broking division of Matrix in January 2007. After starting his career with Bisgood Bishop in 1968, progressing from Blue Button to Director, he then joined UBS in 1986 as Managing Director, Deputy Head of Trading. He went on to become Head of European Proprietary Trading before leaving in 1998 to pursue private business. Dick was then hired by Bridgewell in 2002 to set up their Trading Desk.

Andy joined Matrix in January 2009. He has over 25 years experience and most recently set up Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander’s capital markets desk. Andy has also set up the sales trading desk at Chevreux (part of Credit Agricole); headed up the UK sales trading desk at Credit Suisse First Boston and ran the UK sales trading desk at UBS Phillips & Drew.

David joined Matrix in January 2009. He began his career at Akroyd and Smithers in 1980 and became a member of The Stock Exchange in 1985. He then joined Hoare Govett as a market-maker following which he moved to BZW in (taken over by Credit Suisse in 1997) where he carried out various equity trading roles as well as spending 18 months as Head of Japanese Warrant trading. On returning to the equity division David became a sales trader, following which he joined Credit Agricole Chevreux in 2002. In 2006 he joined Kaupthing Singer and Frielander.

Paul joined Matrix in June 2009. After starting his career in 1984 with stockbroker Guy Puckle & Co, Paul moved to BZW in 1986 (now Credit Suisse) as a market maker, progressing to Director, where he ran various sector trading and proprietary books. Paul then joined Credit Agricole Cheuvreux in 2002 to help set up and head the facilitation desk for UK, Swiss & Skandinavian equities.

Simon joined Matrix in April 2010. He started his career as a fund manager at Kleinwort Benson before moving into Institutional Broking with Cazenove & Co and then ABN AMRO. More recently he helped set up Oriel Securites. Simon has over 17 years experience of the equity markets and has also worked at Investec and Arden Partners.

Daniel joined Matrix in September 2009. He began his career in 1994 at Lombard Odier before moving to Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi where he traded foreign exchange. In 2000 Daniel joined Dresdner Kleinwort as a sales trader and then as a small cap market maker.

Robert joined Matrix Corporate Capital in September 2006 as institutional trader for the Broking division. He has over 7 years experience working within the financial markets. Robert spent most time at Pershing Securities Ltd, where he started his career, gaining exposure to both operational and trading areas. Robert gained further trading experience in various products working as equity dealer for both City Equities Ltd and SVS Securities Ltd.

Steve joined Matrix in 2009. He was formerly CEO of Elixir Securities, a corporate finance business which focuses on structuring individual financing solutions for early-stage public and private biotech and life sciences companies, which he founded in 2002. Prior to Elixir, Steve spent 8 years in equity research variously covering pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemicals and healthcare at UBS Warburg, HSBC, Cazenove and, most recently, as Head of Biotech & Healthcare Research at Commerzbank Securities. Steve has a healthcare industry background having spent 5 years in research and development and in business development for Genzyme Corp in the US.

Stephen joined Matrix in July 2009 from Elixir Securities, a specialist Life Science corporate finance boutique. Prior to Elixir, Stephen worked as a sell-side analyst in Life Sciences equity research at Commerzbank and Teather & Greenwood. Stephen started his career in Life Sciences at Evaluate Pharma Plc, one of the leading providers of industry analytics. Stephen holds a PhD from Cambridge University.

Mal joined Matrix Corporate Capital in August 2009 from Singer Capital Markets. He has over twenty years experience in operations roles. He joined Teather and Greenwood in 1998 in managerial roles within operations.

Andrew joined Matrix in February 2009. He spent 20 years in various settlement areas of Teather & Greenwood and the last three years at Hichens Harrison covering Equity, Derivative and CFD settlements.

Ben joined Matrix in October 2009 after working at Credit Suisse for 3 years in a Trade Support role. Prior to joining Matrix Ben has accumulated 12 years experience in Operations covering Equity, Fixed Income and Futures.

Matthew joined Matrix in March 2010 after working at Religare Capital Markets for over 2 years, where he gathered experience in various Back and Middle office operational roles.

Joined Matrix March 2009 after working at Teather & Greenwood for 3 years in a Middle office/ Trade support role. Previous to that worked in various settlement roles.

Chantelle joined Matrix in August 2007 as Office Assistant to the Group. She has grown within the company, moving to the Investment Funds team and now concentrates on her role as Operations Assistant for Matrix Corporate Capital and Matrix Investment Management.

Christina joined Matrix in September 2009 as Marketing Manager of Matrix Corporate Capital. Christina has over 15 years experience in marketing, communications and business development both within the financial and professional services industries. Previously Christina headed the global marketing team at MGPA, a private equity fund manager, and prior to that was Marketing Manager for EMEA at Marakon Associates, the strategy management consultancy.

Juliet joined Matrix in August 2008 as assistant to Charles Good. Juliet previously worked for the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Jones Lang LaSalle.

Krissy joined Matrix Corporate Capital in March 2010. Prior to joining Matrix she was a Personal Assistant at Aberdeen Asset Managers Private Equity.
